Pecco Bagnaia is a 22-year-old Italian motorcycle racer who at this weekend’s 2018 Six Hours of the Nürburgring, will be making a bid for his first victory.
It’s the culmination of a year in which the Piacenza born rider found himself in an uncomfortable situation; trying to stand up to his father, Pesce, who normally drives him to and from races.
Despite the uncomfortable circumstances, he managed to finish his rookie season in the World Championship, and it’s evident this is his aim for the coming year.
During his stint in the 2013-2015 Moto2 championship, a region in which he found great success, the smile on his face was a joy to behold. As a result, the current prospects of continued success are yet to be confirmed, but for this weekend he will be riding for the Fingerhut team at the Nürburgring.
What stands out the most about this Italian is that as he matures, he seems to be branching out and even supporting his activities outside of motorsport with a Twitter account that features photographs and heartwarming photos of himself with his family.
In 2012, while showing off his love for spaghetti, he wrote, “a present for the New Year. My family, for whom I live and train, so that we can enjoy good news together.”
According to him, his family are extremely supportive of his career. He has also managed to enjoy a long relationship with his landlady in Naples, Attisha, with whom he now shares a home.
